Day 1: Arrival at Kolkata - The City of Joy.
Upon arrival at The City of Joy Kolkata, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Evening and overnight at leisure.
Day 2: Kolkata local city sightseeing
Local sightseeing in and around The City of Joy covering Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Belur Math, drive pass through Howrah Bridge, Writer's Building, Princep Ghat, Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum, Birla Temple etc and evening cruise on River Ganga.
If time permits, visit Biswa Bangla Haat.
Bengal’s Folk Window: Biswa Bangla Haat - Spread over a few acres of greenery in New Town, adjoining Kolkata, Biswa Bangla Haat offers a glimpse of Bengal’s numerous colorful handicrafts and handlooms, apart from live folk performances. It is also a one-stop shop for tourists and wholesalers, but with a crucial difference. Unlike any emporium, you can interact with the craftsmen in person here and know how the products are created and the ingredients. Do visit Biswa Bangla Haat if you wish to experience Bengal’s folk culture!!
Back to hotel and overnight stay.
Day 3: Kolkata - Train - New Jalpaiguri - Gangtok
Early morning transfer to Howrah Railway Station for your train to New Jalpaiguri (Vande Bharat Express: 06:00 Hrs - 13:25 Hrs, except Wednesday)..
On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), board the vehicle and transfer directly to Gangtok (413 Ft / 126 Mts / about 4.5 hrs drive). On reaching Gangtok. Check in and Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Gangtok stay - excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir
After early breakfast excursion tour to the source of all lakes Tsomgo lake (12400ft) which is 37 kms (2.5 Hrs approx) away from Gangtok city. The oval shaped lake is almost about 1km long, and 15mtrs deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people.
After that visit 18 kms from the lake Baba Mandir (temple of disappeared army personal)
and later back to Gangtok. Evening free at Gangtok for shopping / at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Note:
1. Documents for Tsomgo Lake & New Baba Mandir – 02 Passport Size Photo along with Photo Copy of Photo ID Proof (Passport or Driving License or Voter ID (Pan Card & Adhaar Card is not accepted). For Children below 18 years, School Id / College Id along with Aadhar Card / Proof of Birth are a must. Original to be brought with self while travelling.
2. In case visit to Tsomgo Lake is not possible due to landslide or any other unforeseen reasons, alternative sightseeing will be provided.
3. Process for Foreigner, OCI & PIO Card holder are completely different, kindly inform us well in advance to plan out the itinerary accordingly.
Optional:
Nathula Pass (14137 Ft / 4310 Mts) Indo China Border(closed on Monday for tourist), visit is limited to Indian nationals only, allowed on the basis of advance permit & on extra cost. For rate, kindly refer to Supplement & Optional Cost Column, given below the main package cost.
Day 5: Gangtok city tour
Today you will visit the local attractions of Gangtok.
After breakfast embark on a city tour covering Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok, Cottage Industry, Dro-dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower show, Handicraft Centre, Bonjhakri Falls etc.
Rest of the day & overnight at leisure.
Day 6: Gangtok - Pelling
After early breakfast transfer to Pelling, at an elevation of 6,700 ft. Pelling is a very small Himalayan village in West Sikkim, nested in the foothills of Himalaya and it is also the closest motorable point of Mt. Kanchendzonga which is world’s 3rd highest peak. It offers a good sunrise along with view of the entire Eastern Himalayan range.
On the way to Pelling, Namchi Char Dham can be seen (optional).
Day 7: Pelling sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed for Pelling local sightseeing covering Pemayangtse Monastery, Chenrezig Statue & Skywalk. Post lunch, proceed for sightseeing of Rimbi Water fall, Khecheopalri Lake & Kanchanjunga Water fall. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Pelling - Darjeeling
Morning transfer to the queen of the hillsDarjeeling (114km / 3hrs). Darjeeling was the summer capital of India during British raj & currently holding the status "summer capital of West Bengal". Darjeeling, producer of world's best quality orthodox tea, will cater you a mix-experience of lively nature charming Himalayan people. One can enjoy the scenic beauty from the Mall or a walk around town to appreciate the new culture you are in. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 9: Darjeeling local sightseeing
Early morning at around 0400 am (subject to clear weather) excursion to Tiger Hills (8482 Ft / 2586 Mts) to view the sunrise over mighty Kanchendzonga Peak (Third highest peak in the world). Back to hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast go for a half-day sightseeing of local Darjeeling covering Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays), Tenzing & Gombu Rock and Panoramic tour of Tea Estate.
Later transfer to your hotel and overnight stay at hotel.
Note:
1. Tiger Hill visit is subjected to availability of coupons, as only 600 vehicles are allowed in the morning. In case of non-availability of coupons we will provide the Tiger Hill visit after breakfast.
2. Toy Train ride is subjected to availability of tickets as it can be reserved only on first come first serve basis.
Optional:
Afternoon enjoy a ride on the UNESCO World Heritage Toy Train on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) upto Asia’s highest railway station GHOOM and back.
Day 10: Check out
Breakfast will be served at your hotel. After that check out and transfer to Bagdogra International Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) for your onward journey.
